Fun at the Park

Well, the pictures below are a mix of some I took at the park and then some I've taken around the house. First, for those of you who are still wondering, Maggie "passed" the hair clip successfully on Monday. Yay! I will say that last night, after I arrived at church, I went to get her out of her car seat and the rubber band I had put in her hair was gone and I thought "not again!" She had pulled it out of her hair, but I found it in the car. Whew! On to the pictures...

Here's a shot of Maggie in a dress she wore last Sunday. I may use this as her Christmas picture... We went to the park yesterday with my friend Karen and her two little girls...Here's Hope on the monkey bars (is that what those are??)

Another shot of Hope, grinning like her mama.
Jacob going down the slide.

Little Violet hamming it up for the camera.

Jacob stopping to give me a quick smile : )

Well, maybe I found a new way to keep Maggie's hair out of her face without causing bodily harm...what do you think?

Metal doesn't digest very well...

Well, Maggie ate a hair clip yesterday. Yes, you read right. Below you'll see a picture of her x-ray showing the clip in her stomach. We're currently waiting for it to make it's "exit" back into the world. Here's a shot of Jacob playing at a friend's house. He loved this little car garage. The elevator went up and down and he was fascinated by that.

I gave Maggie a bowl of applesauce to play with while I cleaned up the kitchen. A few minutes later I realized that she had bitten through the lid and was sucking out the sauce. Crazy girl.

Maggie was a little apprehensive of the Johnny Jump Up...but she did end up enjoying it.

Fun at home

Some of the latest pictures...

Here is my nephew Dylan, otherwise known as the biggest baby I know...looks like he's thinking "what you talking 'bout Willis!" Jacob is constantly playing with his magnadoodle...drawing the veggie tales characters. He can now add facial elements, such as eyes, nose and a mouth. Yes, we're impressed too.
Here's Maggie sporting a new 'do. This was my effort to keep her hair from collecting snot during the night since she has had a cold the last few days. I think it is cute.

Jacob is enjoying jumping on the bed while wearing his new Handy Manny t-shirt.

Another pic of Maggie...this time sporting a new outfit...sooooo cute.

Fun Outside

I took some pictures of the kids yesterday while waiting for Brent to get home from work.

The prettiest girl on the block... Future singer...

Her favorite pasttime - sticking out her tongue.

Jacob trying to carry 3 balls at once.

Jacob showing the fine art of catching a ball. Step one: get hands ready.

Step two: Keep your eye on the ball.

Step three: Catch it and squeal with happiness.

It also helps to have the best pitcher in town.

Two Cuties

It's been a while since my last post and I don't have a great excuse...sorry. Below are some recent pictures of the kids. Maggie will be 9 months this week (I'm in shock that her first birthday is coming up). Jacob is talking up a storm and saying the funniest things. They're a blast!

Adventures in Eating

The following pictures are of Jacob and Maggie eating various things...a cupcake iced in lime green icing for Jacob, and Maggie enjoying some fruit through a mesh teething feeder, as well as her first taste of cheerios. Yep, we really need to make sure we brush his teeth.
Jacob can be such a good big brother at times, as you can see below as he helps Maggie with her teething feeder (it has a mesh cap so she can have fruit, etc. without danger of choking on it). At other times his only mission is to take away any toys that she might be enjoying.

Here is Maggie trying her hardest to get a small piece of cheerio into her mouth. She was successful on a few occasions.

Two cuties

Here are some recent pictures from around the house. Bear with me as I take a moment to gush...It is just amazing to watch these children grow and learn. I guess I'm talking mostly about Jacob since he is changing so much these days. He has melted my heart in the last week since he started singing along with me when we sing Jesus Loves Me at night before he goes to bed. He is also using phrases and words that he hears us say around the house and it is just adorable...things like actually, instead of, I think, etc. He sure is growing up. Our little Maggie is nothing but precious and she LOVES her older brother. She suffered her first ear infection this past week but has recovered well and overall is a very good baby. I couldn't be happier to be spending my days (and nights) with these two kids!

A few pics with more to come

Here are just a few random pictures I thought I would post. I am going to put more up later today if I have the time. I'm amazed at how fast the kids are growing up. Maggie is sitting up and has two teeth and Jacob is talking up a storm.

Just some random pictures

Here are some random pictures of the kiddos. I've been meaning to post these for a while but life has gotten in the way.

Here is Maggie in her sailor outfit. Isn't she cute???
Jacob got a helmet (not sure why yet...I guess cause he asked for one). He is riding his bicycle around the house a lot and has fallen a few times but I think we'll hold off on wearing the helmet until he rides outside. ; )

Here's a shot of Maggie in her bed...she's getting ready to scream since she thinks I'm going to leave her.

Trip to the zoo, etc.

We had a nice trip to the zoo this week with Chris, Amy, Wesley and Dylan. We went on Thursday and it was the best day of the week to go, since Monday and Tuesday were on record for the hottest days of the year so far. The weather was beautiful and we didn't get too hot. I've posted some pictures from our trip and then a few extras of the kids around the house.

Here, Amy and I are discussing something very important, probably the upcoming election, or the war in Iraq, or the horrible housing market...definitely NOT talking about losing baby weight or some other silly topic.
Maggie did great at the zoo, especially since she had to miss her morning nap to go. She did get a quick snooze while riding in the Bjorn, but was in a good mood as you can see below.
Here you'll see Jacob and cousin Wesley in the petting area of the zoo.

Jacob thought the alligators were pretty cool...that and the frogs. In fact, he was probably most excited about the frogs. Why pay $26 to see stuff you have in your own backyard?!?

Before we left for the zoo Brent put this camo hat of Jacob's on Maggie. For the record, she will never wear camo again. This was a photo opportunity only. Consider this pay back for Brent since he would pitch a fit any time I wanted to put something "traditional" on Jacob as a baby...(code for "fru-fru").

Here's a shot of Jacob playing with his letters (note the big-boy underwear). He is usually in pull-ups but the POINT is that we are potty training. Yay!

And lastly, here is little Maggie, who is not so little any more. This is a shot of her sitting up with the aid of my boppy pillow. This was her first time to sit like that...she is growing up so fast already. What a sweet girl she is...
